500g minced pork
1 finely chopped onion
1 finely chopped carrot
8 water chestnuts finely chopped
2 Tbsp coriander finely chopped
2 Tsp Salt
1 Tbsp Oyster sauce
2 Tsp white pepper
2 Tsp 5 spice powder
3 Tbsp cornflour
1 Tsp sesame oil
100g Cream crackers crushed to rough breadcrumb size
100g Self raising flour
Combine minced pork with all Marinade ingredients (except egg). Once combined add egg and knead to make a sticky paste. Press the mixture against the side of the bowl to develop a smooth texture.
Add in all other remaining ingredients except coating and mix well. Take heaped teaspoon of the meat mixture and form into a round ball then dip into coating.
Drop the coated pork balls into hot oil and deep fry until golden brown. Serve with a dipping sauce.
