Winters a Multi-million pound turnover electrical solutions organisation were celebrating their 25th Company Anniversary and approached Fizz to provide a full event management service and catering at a WOW Venue.

Fizz proposed Trinity House, home to the lighthouse association with links to the scientist Michael Faraday. Faraday harnessed the power of electricity and developed the first ever electric motors. His appointment as Scientific Advisor to Trinity House later transformed British lighthouses into the most technologically advanced in the world. This synergy provided a memorable platform from which to promote Winters 25 years of innovation and success with the added benefit of stunning rooms to host the event. Guests included senior project managers from large corporate and public organisations.

The Brief

Winters electrical wanted a venue that represented their industry in an imaginative way that also offered good transport connections. In terms of the evening itself, Winters sought to offer maximum flexibility and a fun event, their view was that this style of event would ensure that client attendance was maximised across the broad spectrum of their customer base. For entertainment, Winters were looking to create opportunities for hosts to engage with in guests in activities that were enjoyable plus offer a range of entertainment to appeal to the diverse guest profile.

The Fizz Solution

When proposing venues, Fizz sought venue locations that met the client’s brief to provide a venue with a link to electrics and electricity in an innovative sense while also ensuring that the venues were conveniently located for Winter’s clients.

In terms of catering, Fizz proposed that for this event a reception style rather than seated dinner meant that guests would be more likely to attend as they would be able to fit the occasion around their own arrangements for the evening.

A packed programme of entertainment included a fastest lap competition on a 9 lane scaletrix, an operatic performance and close up magic entertainment from a close up magic circle finalist. To remember their hosts guests were invited to have their caricature captured or photograph take, the former placed in a Winters 25th Anniversary frame for guests to take home. Photographs were provided on a link a few days after the event.

To maximise attendance by ensuring that guests could just ‘drop in’ to the event all catering and drinks were circulated by Fizz staff to maximise networking opportunities and to ensure that all guests had enjoyable experience at whatever point of the evening. As the evening progressed the views of the Tower of London through the venue’s Library window were lit dramatically.

The menu included bite size welsh rarebits and tiny beef filled Yorkshire puddings combined with a luxurious seafood display and international specialities served in small bowls.

Conclusion

The venue and entertainment successfully delivered the objectives for this Anniversary celebration. Attendance was over 30% higher than at other previous client events. As well as event management and catering Winters requested that Fizz manage the full invitation process and this included, a save the date, event reminders, 2 updates that promoted the venue, entertainment and performances. Fizz also managed the re-confirmation process which greatly reduced the no-show on the night.
